The role

Are you an experienced pensions administrator who’s ready to step into leadership? If you enjoy supporting others, taking ownership of your own work and want the opportunity to develop your management skills, this could be the perfect next move.

We’re looking for a Pension Administration Team Leader who’s keen to grow, learn, and make an impact. You don’t need to have held a formal team leader role before — we’re looking for potential, the right mindset and solid DB pensions’ experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching and supporting a team of pensions administrators
  • Managing workloads to make sure deadlines and service levels are met
  • Providing technical guidance on more complex pension cases
  • Reviewing work to ensure accuracy, quality and regulatory compliance
  • Assist with the administration aspects of pensions scheme take-ons
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Help support continuous improvement across the team

You

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of pensions expertise, leadership capability and a collaborative mindset:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ pension administration experience within a DB or in-house set up
  • PMI or other professional pensions qualification (or working towards one)
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising others
  • Strong technical understanding of UK pension legislation and administration processes
  • A calm, organised approach with the ability to juggle priorities
  • Clear communication skills

The role

Are you looking for a role which incorporates numerical and customer service skills? Do you want to study towards professional qualifications?
 

If so, the world of pensions could be for you.

As a pensions administrator you will look after members of pension schemes across all aspects of their pension journey; when they join the scheme, when they retire and take their benefits or when they transfer to another pension scheme, and you will answer all manner of queries.

A large part of the role involves calculating pension benefits and communicating with members, so you should be comfortable with numbers and excel spreadsheets, and talking on the phone. You will work as part of a team of more experienced administrators dealing with enquiries from our clients, financial advisers, employers and HMRC.

Other aspects of the role include

  • working alongside our payroll and finance team to ensure pension benefits are paid out on correctly and on time
  • arranging the release of invested funds to ensure benefits can be paid
  • liaising with our client management teams

You will develop a working knowledge of pensions and an awareness of client requirements.

You

This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to establish a career within a financial services organisation.  Or you may have previous skills and work experience, within a similar pensions’ role, that you can bring to this role.

Investment Analyst: Up to £40K depending on experience

Working within the pension’s industry you will be supporting the investment team in delivering a high-quality professional client service to both internal and external customers.

The role

Working within the pension’s industry you will be supporting the investment team in delivering a high-quality professional client service to both internal and external customers. Working as part of the investment team you will be instrumental in its ongoing development to attain profitable and sustainable growth through effective client management. You will assist the consultants in delivering day to day investment services to clients including:

  • routine reporting on clients’ investments
  • designing investment strategies
  • planning and managing asset transfers
  • preparing papers and presentations for trustee meetings
  • ensuring compliance with various governance requirements

Within the role you will obtain and record relevant, up to date investment information by liaising with fund managers and carrying out research and analysis.

This role is an opportunity to progress your investment career. Working as part of a small team there is a large focus on training and development. You will be encouraged to actively contribute to internal discussions and new ideas to improve your knowledge and the services we provide our clients with. 

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar or related field and be looking to continue their professional qualifications. In addition you will need to:

  • have IMC, CFA1 or actuarial equivalent qualification
  • have experience of using Excel and other statistical software
  • be a good communicator whose strengths are their self-organisation and attention to detail. 
  • be able to work to tight deadlines and take a pro-active approach to your work. 

You will be supported to continue with professional qualifications for your progress and development.

Working within the financial services industry you will be managing the data that is pivotal to the successful running of pension schemes. As part of the data services team you will be involved with the management and application of the administration database to assist all aspects of the business

The role

Working within the financial services industry you will be managing the data that is pivotal to the successful running of pension schemes. As part of the data services team you will be involved with the management and application of the administration database to assist all aspects of the business including:

  • Onboarding new clients
  • Formatting and loading bulk data sets to the administrative database
  • Performing ongoing maintenance and quality testing on the data in line with statutory requirements
  • Updating and maintaining automated calculation and documentation libraries ensuring seamless transition of relevant data from the administration database
  • Producing both standard and ad hoc data extracts, reports, and statistics for use within data related projects throughout the business

Working with teams from across the business, in particular the actuarial and administration teams, you will be instrumental in the ongoing management of this database.


Qualifications and skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong numerical background and be confident working with large data sets. You will have excellent excel skills and a knowledge of defined benefit pensions and SQL would be an advantage. You will enjoy working in a process driven environment where logical thinking and attention to detail are key skills.

The role would be suitable for someone looking to start a career with a focus on data quality and data management, or someone looking to develop their skills from a pension’s administration background.
