The role
Do you have a passion for technology and problem-solving? Ready to take your first step into the world of IT? We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic 1st Line IT Support Engineer to join our friendly and supportive team.
As a 1st Line IT Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related queries and issues within a busy financial services firm. The role will involve:
- Responding promptly to user and internal IT team enquiries, resolving a wide range of technical problems.
- Providing day-to-day maintenance of IT servers and associated software.
- Creating and maintaining accurate documentation for supported systems and software, ensuring accessibility for all IT team members.
- Managing IT issues in line with established standards and procedures.
- Overseeing the firm’s IT assets, including inventory management, labelling, and secure disposal.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues across the firm’s IT infrastructure, including printers, telephone systems, PCs and servers
- Supporting project-based work from planning and design through to implementation, support, and evaluation.
- Monitoring and maintaining the firm’s backup
solutions, ensuring reliability and swift issue resolution
Qualifications and Skills
This role would suit someone who has a real interest and passion for IT. In addition the successful candidate will have:
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with server maintenance and backup solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Investment Analyst

The role
Working within the pension’s industry you will be supporting the investment team in delivering a high-quality professional client service to both internal and external customers. Working as part of the investment team you will be instrumental in its ongoing development to attain profitable and sustainable growth through effective client management. You will assist the consultants in delivering day to day investment services to clients including:
- routine reporting on clients’ investments
- designing investment strategies
- planning and managing asset transfers
- preparing papers and presentations for trustee meetings
- ensuring compliance with various governance requirements
Within the role you will obtain and record relevant, up to date investment information by liaising with fund managers and carrying out research and analysis.
This role is an opportunity to progress your investment career. Working as part of a small team there is a large focus on training and development. You will be encouraged to actively contribute to internal discussions and new ideas to improve your knowledge and the services we provide our clients with.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will be a graduate who has an interest in financial markets and or has already gained experience working in a similar or related field and be looking to continue your professional qualifications. In addition you will need to:
- have experience of using Excel and other statistical software
- be a good communicator whose strengths are their self-organisation and attention to detail.
- be able to work to tight deadlines and take a pro-active approach to your work.
- have experience in, knowledge of and understanding of investment, pensions or actuarial work. This would be advantageous but not essential.
There will be the opportunity for you to study towards relevant IMC and CFA professional qualifications to support your progress and development.

Assistant Data Analyst

The role
Working within the financial services industry you will be managing the data that is pivotal to the successful running of pension schemes. As part of the data services team you will be involved with the management and application of the administration database to assist all aspects of the business including:
- Onboarding new clients
- Formatting and loading bulk data sets to the administrative database
- Performing ongoing maintenance and quality testing on the data in line with statutory requirements
- Updating and maintaining automated calculation and documentation libraries ensuring seamless transition of relevant data from the administration database
- Producing both standard and ad hoc data extracts, reports, and statistics for use within data related projects throughout the business
Working with teams from across the business, in particular the actuarial and administration teams, you will be instrumental in the ongoing management of this database.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will have a strong numerical background and be confident working with large data sets. You will have excellent excel skills and a knowledge of defined benefit pensions and SQL would be an advantage. You will enjoy working in a process driven environment where logical thinking and attention to detail are key skills.
The role would be suitable for someone looking to start a career with a focus on data quality and data management, or someone looking to develop their skills from a pension’s administration background.

Assistant Payroll and Accounts Officer

The role
As part of the established Payroll team, you will work on Quantum’s growing client base to onboard, manage, process and administer monthly pensioner payrolls.
Taking ownership of a number of payroll schemes of differing sizes, you will be required to:
- ensure all the payroll changes, payments to members and statutory payments are completed in a timely manner on a monthly basis;
- be responsible for running P45 and P60 certificates when required and filing information on line (FPS, EPS etc) to HMRC before the due date;
- manage input records, set up starters, process leavers;
- work closely with the administration teams and the wider finance team;
- take ownership of the payroll from start to finish and be the first point of contact for all queries.
Effective communication with members of the different payroll schemes is key to the role and you will be expected to answer their queries by phone, email and letter, and to provide an excellent level of service to members and colleagues.
The role is not just limited to payroll as it will also include ad hoc finance related duties, such as customer billing, preparing payments via online banking and updating cash books on a daily basis to support the wider finance team.
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will:
- up to 2 years’ experience within payroll administration;
- strong telephone and email skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and members;
- Microsoft Excel experience to an intermediate level;
- Microsoft Word experience to be able to competently prepare letters to members
- experience of managing their work to meet strict deadlines;
- the ability to multitask and prioritise their own workload;
- be methodical in their work and be comfortable following set processes;
- a willingness to assist and support your colleagues across the Finance team during busy times.

Administration is a vital part of a pension scheme – ensuring scheme members are looked after throughout their pension journey. Pension administrators are highly skilled, customer-focussed people working in a fast-paced environment. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail are key to providing services to scheme members and trustees. We provide formal training, continuous learning, and professional qualifications including a generous Pensions Management Institute exam package.
Investment
A pension scheme’s investment strategy is a critical area for trustees and one which requires careful thought and support from highly trained advisers. The investment team helps set investment strategy, implement the agreed strategy with suitable funds, and regularly monitor and review performance against each pension scheme’s objectives. We provide on-the-job training as well as supporting study for professional qualifications.
Actuarial Consultancy
We offer Actuarial consultancy services to trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers. You may be working towards an actuarial qualification (full study support provided) or you may have actuarial consultancy experience and desire a new opportunity. As part of the actuarial team, based in one of our four office locations, you will work on our exciting and growing client base.
Secretariat and Governance
We provide full Secretariat services to complement our consultancy and administration offerings. Being part of a team which directly supports trustees is an interesting rewarding role. Excellent communication skills, and an ability to build relationships are a must. Candidates are usually required to be Associates of the Pension Management Institute or working towards this qualification.
Finance
The finance team delivers accounting, payroll and financial services. You will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external clients offering variety, challenge and early responsibility. You will get experience of the latest advanced accounting software and data analytical tools. We offer support towards recognised qualifications such as Accountancy (ACA) (ACCA) and Payroll (CIPP).
IT and Operations
Probably one of the most important parts of any organisation are its business-critical systems. Our IT and operations teams support the planned future growth of Quantum by maintaining the IT systems, networks and communication infrastructure and initiating and implementing improvements in all areas of IT.
